Click on the gallery to see more pictures of HMS Morecambe Bay. HMS MORECAMBE BAY Paid off on 19th November 1956 and was laid up in Reserve at Portsmouth. Later she was transferred to Barrow and placed on the Disposal List. On 9th May 1961 this frigate was sold to Portugal and renamed DOM FRANCESCO DE ALMEIDA. This World War II 1/96th scale Bay Class Frigate is a Deans Marines kit that I have built and worked on for the past 2 years. By using using researched material, I have been able to detail and build this model boat to a very high standard, giving both pleasure on and off the water. It is operated by 2 channel radio gear and boasts a crew of 23. HMS Morecambe Bay has been sold.
